Cambridge Ohio sets up their town as a Victorian Christmas every year. It’s a fun little activity for the entire family.

It’s very focused on Dickens and his life. Throughout the town you can see statues with a bit of information about the people and the times. If you like history, this is very enlightening. Stop at the court house, as they do a light and music display every half hour. If you go on the weekends, they have horse drawn carriage rides and entertainers walking the streets in period costumes and caroling. In fact, if you stop at the welcome center, you can try on an outfit and get your picture taken. They have a statue of Charles Dickens at the welcome center and you can take your picture with him.

Since a lot of it is focused on the lift of Dickens, it makes for a less scary visit of the man who wrote one of the the favorite Christmas ghost stories.
