The original graphic novel by James O’Barr is one of my favorite things to read. the original movie came very close to capturing it 100%. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a pretty fantastic movie, but I’ve always felt there were just a few things they could have done that would have put it over the top.
I had high hopes when I heard they were rebooting it, but I was reticent because it could really get screwed up.
They kept it Eric and Shelley – but pretty much everything else they changed. Ugh. If they were going to change the story as much as they did, they should have just made it different characters. they mythology holds up for that and actually encourages it.
so disappointed.
