The Crazies (Codename: Trixie) was a George Romero film he put out between Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. While not quite zombies, the virus unleashed on the population make them act a bit like zombies. For a Romero fan, you need to watch it. But I don’t think it’s one of his better movies. Just feels like it not quite enough. Doesn’t hold up great in today’s world. I think the problem is, it doesn’t focus so much on a group of people. Makes it feel all over the board.

The remake is actually pretty good. It’s more of an action thriller, but its done well. It’s a solid movie and enjoyable. The horror aspect is quite a bit less in the remake than maybe it could be, but that’s an opinion.
