Welcome to our first side dish – a quick talk about a great public domain horror movie. In fact, this one is the first recognized horror movie – House of the Devil from Georges Méliès. While it’s short – 3 minutes – its fascinating to see this put together and be a horror movie (loosely defined).

You can check it out and watch this classic:

  • Twas the Night (2023) – Holiday Horror Feast

Anthology story with a confusing bookened story. The ‘different’ stories are pretty much all the same. At least the product quality isn’t bad.

  • Curse of the Cat People – Appetizer

Can someone tell me what this has to do with the cat people and they curse they bear? While not a bad little movie that makes you wonder is it a ghost or imagination – I really wish so many old movies didn’t have clickbait titles.

  • Dead of Winter – Holiday Horror Feast

A struggling actress takes a job she may regret. With Mary Steenburgen and Roddy McDowell, this is a pretty intense film. A good watch.

  • Slay Belles – Holiday Feast

Boob horror – the ‘biggest’ reason to watch it. It’s almost not quite complete crap. It’s fun if nothing else. Does have Barry Bostwick. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3526622 Get it on Amazon – https://amzn.to/4id6uIM

  • Who Slew Auntie Roo – Holiday Feast

Kindly widow takes in orphans to give them a wonderful Christmas. Or is she a modern witch looking for the next Hansel and Gretel? I mean, anyone that keeps the desiccated corpse of her dead daughter might not have all the lights on. and is she the only crazy one? a bit on the Psycho…

  • Day of the Beast – Holiday Feast

A priest must invoke the devil to stop the Anti-Christ from being born on Christmas Eve. this is Italian, so subtitles fo rmost of us. I can’t figure out if they meant it serious and it ended up being comedic or they wanted a comedy and ended up a bit serious. Interesting characters if nothing…

  • Sole Survivor – Appetizer Review

This is Final Destination 30 years before Final Destination. Basically the same storyline, but made in the early 80’s, so it’s not as flashy. Solid movie and worth watching if you liked the Final Destination movies. And it’s more spooky feeling because they don’t try to dramatize death after her more than showing some of…

  • The Nights Before Christmas – Holiday Horror Feast

A solid movie, better than most but not as good as a top movie. Crazy’s on a revenge trail for victims that got away. Kind of a slasher, but more of a psychological cop thriller. Worth watching as an alternative to sappy Hallmark movies. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7620598 Get it on amazon – https://amzn.to/3LV5tJ3

  • Frostbite – Holiday Horror Feast

A Swedish horror movie. Not much of an actual horror movie, other than winter. The twists on the vampire is nice. Overall the movie is solid if not rememberable. Good special effects.

  • Silent Shadows of November – Horror Movie Soundtrack

Silent Shadows of November is a creeping, atmospheric horror composition that captures the unsettling stillness of late autumn—the brief, breathless moment before winter swallows the world. The track opens with quiet, distant tones that echo like footsteps in abandoned woods, gradually swelling into layers of cold whispers, low drones, and mournful strings. Each sound feels…
